Job summary

Worcester Cultural Academy is seeking a part-time Nutrition Aide to support students and staff at school lunch. The role involves assisting with food preparation, inventory and serving meals, while following all State Health Requirements for food service workers and communicating effectively with the school population.

This 4-hour-per-day position, Monday through Friday, requires stamina for lifting up to 50 pounds and basic computer use.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience in a school food service role is a plus.
• Allergen Awareness Certificate and/or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• CPR Training and Choking certification and/or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Food Handlers Certificate within 90 days.
• Satisfactory background check, including CORI and Fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and distribution.
• Managing food allergies.
• Heavy lifting required (up to 50 pounds).
• Assist with inventory of food, supplies, other items.
• Basic knowledge of production records.
• Basic computer knowledge (email, Excel, computer programs).
• Organizing supplies, food items, paper goods.
• Rotate supplies; FIFO; check dates; etc.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Cleaning equipment and workstations.
• Sweeping and mopping floors.
• All other duties as assigned.

This person will be responsible for helping with food preparation, food inventory, and serving food to students. This candidate will need to have knowledge of general operation of basic cafeteria equipment and follow all State Health Requirements for food service workers. Must be able to properly communicate with the school's population.

This position is part-time. The positions hours are for 4 hours each day during school lunch time , Monday through Friday.

• Heavy lifting required (milk crates; food containers; etc) up to 50 pounds
• Assist with inventory of food, supplies, other items
• Basic knowledge of production records
• Basic computer knowledge (email, excel, computer programs)

• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
