Job summary

Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School in Sturbridge, MA seeks a dedicated Reading Teacher to provide small-group instruction for Grades 1-3 using Wilson's Fundations program to build foundational literacy skills.

Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Reading Teacher to provide small-group instruction for students in Grades 1-3. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early literacy development and experience with Wilson's Fundations® program. This role focuses on supporting foundational reading skills through targeted instruction and ongoing assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, research-based reading instruction to small groups of students in Grades 1-3.
  • Implement Wilson's Fundations® program with fidelity to support phonics, phonemic awareness, and spelling skills.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the school Literacy Specialist and classroom teachers to align interventions with classroom instruction and school-wide literacy goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to teachers and families as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification (Reading Specialist certification a plus).
  • Experience teaching early literacy and familiarity with Wilson's Fundations® program strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of phonics-based instruction and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Schedule
  • Part-time position; mornings, five days per week

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience; $25-45 per hour.
