Purpose Statement
The job of Nutrition & Wellness Worker I is to provide support to the food service personnel at the assigned school location, with specific responsibilities for food service activities, food preparation, and compliance with the National School Lunch Program and mandated health requirements.
Reports to Kitchen Manager.
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Skills: Adhering to safety practices; operating equipment found in a commercial kitchen.
Knowledge: Basic math; understanding written procedures; writing routine documents; speaking clearly; understanding multi-step instructions. Also knowledge of safety practices, food preparation, handling, and sanitation.
Abilities: Use job-related equipment; consider factors when using equipment; work flexibly with others; interact with diverse individuals; work with data; problem solve following guidelines; communicate with kitchen manager. Abilities include: communicating with diverse groups; setting priorities; teamwork; handling interruptions; managing detailed information; maintaining rapport with students, employees, and community.

Physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, fine finger dexterity; 10% sitting, 30% walking, 60% standing; exposure to temperature extremes and injury risk; must lift 50 pounds.
