Provide support to food service activities at the assigned location, including directing food service personnel, producing food that meets mandated nutritional needs, providing written support, and complying with health standards and national meal programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Perform technical tasks requiring safety practices, project planning, accurate record maintenance, operation of standard kitchen equipment, and use of applicable software; adhere to safety practices and procedures.
Knowledge: Perform basic math, read technical information, compose documents, facilitate discussions, and analyze situations; understand safety practices and procedures, food preparation and handling, sanitation practices, and quantity cooking methods.
Abilities: Schedule activities, gather, collate, and classify data, work with diverse groups and equipment, solve problems, set priorities, and work as part of a team.
Responsibilities: Work under limited supervision following standardized practices, direct others in a small unit, utilize resources from other units.
Physical demands include significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking, 30% standing. Exposure to extreme temperatures and risk of injury. Must lift 50 pounds.
Job‑related experience with increasing responsibility is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain required certificates.
