Purpose Statement
The job of Campus Support is to provide support to the instructional process with specific responsibilities for ensuring safety and welfare of students in various support service areas including noon duty coverage, AM/PM duty coverage, classroom assistance, cross‑walk coverage, and other areas as needed on campus.
This job reports to the Building Administrator.
Essential Functions
- Assist students to ensure safe access to and from assigned locations.
- Communicate safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff, and visitors to ensure understanding and the potential consequences of violations.
- Maintain job‑related equipment (e.g., stop signs, jackets, sand bags, flags) to ensure availability of required items.
- Monitor individual and/or groups of students in settings such as classroom, playground, field trips, between periods, library, lunchroom, bus loading/unloading to ensure compliance and a safe environment.
- Monitor student behavior entering and exiting school grounds to maintain a safe environment.
- Refer incidents (personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations) to appropriate site personnel for follow‑up.
- Report observations and incidents (accidents, fights, inappropriate behavior, violations, safety conditions) to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
- Respond to inquiries from students and parents regarding campus security issues, providing information, direction, and referral.
- Respond to a variety of situations (accidents, injuries, etc.) to take appropriate action to resolve immediate safety or security concerns.
- Support classroom teachers and other school personnel to assist in ensuring a safe learning environment.
Other Functions
- Participate in unit meetings, in‑service training, workshops for conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Work Environment
Physical demands include some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and fine finger dexterity. Tasks require 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing. Job performed under temperature extremes and exposure to risk of injury or illness.
Experience
Job‑related experience is desired.

High school diploma or equivalent.
