2026-27 AY Lecturer Pool – Philosophy

Instructional Faculty – Part‑time Temporary/Lecturer Pool (conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget; initial appointments typically one semester)
The Philosophy Department is seeking part‑time faculty lecturer applicants for positions available as needed during the 2026‑2027 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each semester, with appointments typically for one semester but occasionally for a full academic year. Hires may be made on short notice and may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.
Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments, dates, times, and modality are determined by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.
Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary ranges per Lecturer rank (per 7/1/2024 schedule):
New lecturers are most often hired at Lecturer A or B rank.
