Do you like a flexible work schedule with dynamic interaction with students? Are you creative and want to teach others? Socorro Consolidated Schools is looking for part‑time, temporary substitute teachers.

Substitute teachers must hold a current NMPED Substitute Teacher License or Teacher License. They are required to complete NMPED’s Substitute Training and submit the certificate of completion to the Personnel Office.

Requirements

• Current NMPED Substitute Teacher License or Teacher License
• Minimum age 18 (21 for high‑school level)
• Experience with public school staff, meeting school guidelines, and being a team player
• Completed NMPED’s Substitute Training
• Completed vector training
• FBI background check
• Evidence of education completion and level (high‑school diploma or university transcripts)
• I‑9 and W‑4 completion
• Three substitute observation forms signed by principals (one observation at each grade band: elementary, middle, high school)
• Current teacher or substitute teacher license (no non‑licensed substitution)
• Costs associated with licensure and background check are the applicant’s responsibility
