Farmington Municipal Schools is seeking Substitute teachers for PreK through 12 to cover classes in the absence of regular teachers. You will follow lesson plans, manage classrooms, and maintain confidentiality while supporting student learning.
This position requires a high school diploma, completion of on-boarding steps, fingerprint background check, and NM substitute license. Daily rate varies by credentials and district needs; opportunities to work across grade levels.
Substitute teachers are hired to perform instructional duties in the absence of the teacher or assist the teacher in the absence of the EA.
Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. The following may be required: Sitting, standing, lifting, moving about the room or school, carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture.
Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. Duty assignments before and after the bell might be required.
Daily rate and work calendar established yearly by the district. Substitutes are required to take assignments a minimum of three days a month to be considered active. Unless a resignation is received, employment will automatically roll to the next school year. Substitutes are not eligible for unemployment benefits during holiday breaks or summer break and are hired as an at will employee and may be discharged at any time without cause.
