Responsibilities

• Keep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times.
• Be familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, severe storm and tornado warning procedures. Review notes for the day, take attendance and follow the lesson plans of the teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality as defined by FERPA.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances and exercise good judgment and appropriate language or behavior.
• Report for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment, including planning time of the teacher.

POSITION TITLE: Substitute Teacher

FLSA: Exempt Professional

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a NM PED Subsititue License - Must be able to pass a background check

REPORTS TO: Site Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Daily contracted services for the current school year.

Please submit a copy of your NMPED Substitute License with your application.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Leave detailed notes for teacher on any issues experienced during the day.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal, or the Substitute Office.
