2025 Maintenance Support Mechanic Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Dismantle, repair, adjust, overhaul, install, assemble, fabricate, and service mechanical and piping equipment. Determine parts needed, support troubleshooting, and conduct preventive maintenance.
• Machinery Operation and Fabrication: Operate precision tools, fabricate parts, and test units. Monitor machining processes.
• Technical Skills and Documentation: Work from blueprints, perform repairs, utilize measurement equipment, and document findings.
• Computer and Data Management: Use SAP for procedures and data retrieval.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow safety policies and use PPE as required.
• Availability and Flexibility: Be available for overtime, shifts, and on-call duties.

Training Requirements

• Complete an apprenticeship program including classroom training, on-the-job training, and evaluations. Maintain current safety and procedural training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum WorkKeys scores: Applied Mathematics 4, Locating Information 4, Reading for Information 4. No minimum for Applied Technology but reviewed by hiring managers.
• Associate’s degree or two+ years related experience required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in industrial, military, or machining environments.
• Validated Associate’s degree programs (e.g., Kilgore College, TSTC Marshall, Tyler JC).
• Manual Machinist - Class A, Troubleshooting, Rotating Equipment, Multi-craft skills, Stable work history.
