HOURLY RATE: $34.21


POSITION SUMMARY:


Ideal candidates include mechanics and millwrights with experience in marine repair, maintenance, or new construction, or in manufacturing, maintenance, or repair industries such as industrial machinery, automotive, aerospace, farm equipment, or other fields requiring high mechanical aptitude and competence in systems assembly. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


(This list is not exhaustive but highlights the primary responsibilities.)


Duties include installation of integrated system components such as:

  • Engines, drives, HVAC systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, fire suppression systems, and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None, but assistance to the supervisor in organizing and directing crew is expected.


INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding daily tasks, safety rules, and hazards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have own tools.
  • Hydraulics and piping experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with machining is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow procedures carefully.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five to seven years' experience in relevant fields or completion of an apprentice program.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 lbs., and maneuver difficult objects with assistance.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and in enclosed spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Exposure to noise, welding gases, fumes, and weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided.


CITIZENSHIP:

U.S. citizenship required due to government contract.
