HOURLY RATE: $31.37


POSITION SUMMARY:


Desirable backgrounds include mechanics and millwrights with experience in marine repair, maintenance, or new construction applications, or in manufacturing, maintenance, or repair industries such as industrial machinery, automotive, aerospace, farm equipment, or other industries requiring high mechanical aptitude and competence in integrated systems assembly. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


(This list is not exhaustive but representative of the job's overall responsibilities.)


Duties include installation of integrated system components such as:

  • Engines, drives, HVAC systems, Fuel systems, Hydraulic systems, Fire suppression systems, and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:


None, but may assist Supervisor in organizing and directing crew as necessary.


INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding daily functions, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate with and instruct team members on the project.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have own set of tools.
  • Hydraulics and piping experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with machining is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Capable of carefully following engineering drawings and procedures to perform equipment installations.
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five to seven years' experience in relevant fields or an apprentice program.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, carry 60 lbs., or maneuver objects; heavier objects will be lifted with mechanical assistance or additional workers.
  • Must be able to lift a 4 ft., 60 lb. spool of wire and load welding machines.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
  • Capable of working from ladders and scaffolding.
  • Capable of working in enclosed spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided as necessary.


CITIZENSHIP:


This position requires US citizenship due to government contract requirements.
