Competitive Salary Range!

  • *$54,000 to $82,320 (Based on education and years of relevant teaching experience) *The annual salary listed above is based on a full-time, 8-hour workday (FTE 1) and a full working calendar. For positions with less than a full FTE or reduced hours, such as part-time or late-start positions, the salary will be prorated accordingly. Certified Salary Schedule . Position Overview

  • Riverview is seeking a full-time Music Teacher to be part of our 50/50 two-way dual language program.For "bilingual positions", candidates must have the ability to teach in Spanish and English. If you have questions about the requirements or this posting, please reach out directly to the school principal (Adam Volek) at avolek@rfschools.com .Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Music Teacher is responsible for fostering students' appreciation and understanding of music through exposure to a wide range of musical genres, historical periods, and styles. The teacher will cultivate students' skills in both vocal and instrumental performance, while identifying and nurturing individual musical talents and encouraging creative expression.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  • Develops a balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, rehearsal, and instruction.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
  • Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate.
  • Plans, coordinates rehearsals for, and directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  • Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during practice, rehearsal and performances.
  • Coordinates with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
  • Selects and requisitions appropriate music supplies and instrumental equipment, maintains inventory records, and ensures equipment is in good working order.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of English grammar, word usage, word denotations and connotations, spelling, literature and other content areas taught.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to play an instrument or instruments, conduct students in playing instruments as needed.
  • Ability to instruct students in singing, harmonization, and chorus as needed.
  • Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.

Necessary Credentials

  • Successful prior teaching experience in music for the appropriate grade level preferred.
  • Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution in Music or related field of study.
  • MUST have an active Colorado Teaching License in Music (K-12)or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. If additional coursework or a preparation program is required, the applicant must provide proof of enrollment and submission of the required documentation to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) within 30 days of employment.
  • Official transcripts must be provided upon hire. For international transcripts, an evaluation is required through a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
  • Visa Candidates are required to hold at minimum, an Initial (3-year) License.

Physical Requirements

  • May include, standing and walking for extended periods; bend, stoop, and lift materials; reach for supplies on high shelves; use manual dexterity for tasks like writing and using technology; communicate clearly and effectively with students; climb stairs in multi-level buildings.
