Job summary

The Learning Experience Byron Center in Byron Center, MI, is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to lead our 2-year-old classroom. You will guide development and implement the LEAP Curriculum to create meaningful learning experiences while supporting language development and social skills.

This full-time role runs Monday through Friday; we offer competitive pay, paid training, and opportunities for advancement in a nurturing, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in daycare/preschool strongly preferred.
• Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds preferred.
• Lead classroom experience is a plus.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Dependable, energetic, nurturing, and team-oriented.
• Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom for 2-year-olds.
• Implement The Learning Experience’s proprietary LEAP Curriculum.
• Create hands-on experiences through art, music, movement, sensory play, and exploration.
• Support language development, independence, and early social skills.
• Encourage developing self-help and toileting skills.
• Maintain consistent routines and positive classroom guidance.
• Observe children’s development and maintain required documentation.
• Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families.
• Guide and collaborate with classroom support teachers.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
