Job summary

Pro Resources Staffing Services is seeking a Shipper to join a busy, team-oriented warehouse operation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You will receive cartons, create pallet labels, scan, palletize, and prepare shipments for carrier pickup.

The role requires basic math, reading/writing at a high school level, and experience with RF scanners and pallet jacks. You must be able to lift up to 45 lbs, stand long hours, and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work experience in a similar role.
• Reading comprehension and writing skills at a high school level.
• Basic math skills including addition and subtraction.
• Basic computer skills and experience with a handheld scanner.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Able to work independently or in a group and be flexible with workflow.

Responsibilities

• Receive cartons from the shipping line and create pallet labels.
• Scan and palletize cartons, building pallets correctly for carrier pickup.
• Lift and move cartons safely and operate a pallet jack as needed.
• Wrap completed pallets and stage for pickup, print documents as required.
• Follow routing instructions to ensure correct shipping lines and labeling.
• Perform housekeeping tasks and other duties as assigned.

Hours: 10am-6:30pm with OTPay: $17.50 The Shipper WillReceive cartons from the appropriate shipping line, create pallet labels, scan, and palletize cartons, building pallets correctly for carrier pickupLift cartons on and off the conveyor to palletize for carrier pickup, correcting carton weights as neededUse a portable scanning device to update and palletize cartonsPrint and attach additional shipping and customs documents as neededFollow routing instructions to ensure cartons are sent down the correct shipping lines, sealed, assembled, labeled, and wrappedUse a hand or motorized pallet jack to transport pallets to the machine wrapperHand wrap or machine wrap completed pallets, attach pallet labels, and stage them for carrier pickupPerform ongoing cleanup and empty trash at the end of each shiftPerform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Minimum of 6 months of consecutive work experience, including work that involved walking, standing, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, bending, and reaching

Physical Requirements

• Walk and stand continuously throughout the assigned shift
• Lift/carry up to 45 lbs. frequently during the assigned shift
• Push/pull up to 40 lbs. of force during the assigned shift
• Grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift
• Frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, crawl, reach above shoulder level, and type/keyboard
• Work in a warehouse environment with exposure to a wide range of temperatures
• Work the designated shift, including overtime as required, which may include time before or after the shift and/or weekends

Essential Functions

Able to walk and stand continuously, grip and grasp, bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb, crawl, reach overhead, push/pull up to 40 lbs. of force, and lift up to 45 lbs. on a frequent basis for the duration of the assigned shift, including overtime as required, in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures. #FortWayne
