Job summary

GSC Wholesale LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a full-time custodian/janitor to keep our warehouse and offices clean and safe. The first shift runs Sun-Thurs starting at 6:00 a.m., with paid training and the potential for career progression within a company that serves local communities.

Earn $16 per hour plus a $1.50 cooler pay, with benefits from day one, weekly pay, PTO and holiday pay, and access to company discounts and wellness programs. Training is 1–2 weeks on 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Attendance and a GED/HS diploma are required.
• Demonstrates initiative, productivity, quality, and safety values.
• Ability to perform lifting and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, buff and wax floors; use pallet jack and scrubber for cleaning.
• Tend to spills and damaged product; dispose of wrap, paper, and boxes properly.
• Follow all material handling equipment safety procedures.
• Occasionally lift varying weights and heights; follow all safety procedures.

Job Description

Earn $16 per hour + $1.50 cooler freezer pay

1st shift, FT, Sun-Thurs, 6:00 a.m. until completion

3100 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, Texas 77021

Training will be 1-2 weeks on 2nd shift

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor - Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors - Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

Physical Demands

• Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift
• Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more
• Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead
• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height
• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
