Job summary

The Suddath Companies is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the 1st shift in Jessup, MD. You will lead day-to-day warehouse operations, drive productivity, and ensure safety and customer service standards are met.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in a related field and at least 3 years of leadership in a high-volume warehouse, with experience in WMS and performance metrics. Competitive benefits and relocation support may be offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive warehouse or distribution operations experience.
• Experience leading frontline operations staff in a high-volume or complex warehouse environment.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), labor tracking, and operational performance metrics.
• Demonstrated experience with safety compliance, operational planning, and employee performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient execution of shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Coach and accountability for operations staff, including staffing alignment and real-time decisions.
• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, quality, and service levels; drive improvements.
• Support workforce planning: scheduling, onboarding, training, performance feedback.
• Ensure OSHA safety compliance and adherence to company policies and standards.
• Serve as escalation point for customer issues and operational disruptions; drive resolutions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
• Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment and facility resources.
• Ensure accuracy of inbound/outbound paperwork and inventory records.
