Job summary

Somic America, Inc. in Brewer, ME is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Operator for the 1st shift. You will help ensure incoming materials are received correctly and customer shipments depart safely, accurately, and on time.

Ideal candidates are dependable, organized, and able to operate forklifts and scanners; familiarity with PLEX is a plus. We offer comprehensive benefits and biweekly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read manifests and shipping docs.
• Basic math with decimals, fractions, and percentages.
• Basic Excel and Word skills; use of scanners and PLEX.
• Ability to safely operate forklift.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and communication.
• Dependability and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Load outbound shipments and unload incoming materials.
• Verify packing slips, pallet tags, quantities, and paperwork.
• Stage, strap, wrap, label and prepare shipments.
• Use PLEX to receive materials and maintain traceability.
• Sort packaging skids and record tote/pallet quantities.
• Print invoices and prepare billing paperwork.
• Operate forklift, tugger, and hoist; perform equipment checks.
• Maintain FIFO, 5S and Kaizen improvements.
