Job summary

Somic America is hiring for a 1st shift Shipping/Receiving Operator in Brewer, ME. The role moves materials and finished goods safely and on time, including loading/unloading trucks and preparing shipments.

You will use AIM, Excel, and Word to track inventory and paperwork, while maintaining accurate records and clean, safe work practices. Ideal candidates have attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and the flexibility to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Able to read shipping documents and work instructions.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (75 lbs. occasionally).
• Able to stand and walk for the full shift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Prepare customer shipments, including staging, wrapping, strapping, and labeling.
• Verify shipments for accuracy before they leave the facility.
• Receive raw materials and maintain accurate inventory records using AIM.
• Transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain FIFO inventory practices.
• Process shipping paperwork (FedEx, UPS, export, service parts).
• Inspect and sort returnable packaging.
• Keep Shipping & Receiving area organized, clean and safe.
• Support Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives.
