Job summary

Somic America Inc. is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Operator to help move materials and finished goods safely, accurately, and on time within our facility.

The ideal candidate will maintain FIFO practices, verify shipments, and handle paperwork while learning AIM, Excel, and Word. You will lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a clean and safe Shipping & Receiving area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient with basic computer systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Prepare customer shipments with proper staging, wrapping, strapping and labeling.
• Verify shipments for accuracy before leaving the facility.
• Receive raw materials and maintain inventory records.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Process shipping paperwork (FedEx, UPS, export).
• Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

As a Shipping & Receiving Operator, you'll help ensure materials and finished products move safely, accurately, and on time throughout our facility. Daily responsibilities include:

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
• Prepare customer shipments, including staging, wrapping, strapping, and labeling
• Verify shipments for accuracy before they leave the facility
• Receive raw materials and maintain accurate inventory records using AIM
• Transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
• Maintain FIFO inventory practices
• Process shipping paperwork, including FedEx, UPS, export, and service part shipments
• Inspect and sort returnable packaging
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe Shipping & Receiving area
• Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives
