Job summary

Cardinal Staffing partnered with a manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, MI. They are currently looking to add multiple customer sheet metal fabricators to their team. These are 1st shift (6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) employment opportunities, with long term opportunities. Pay rates range from $18-30, based on skill and experience.

You will operate metalworking machines, read blueprints, weld, and join sheet metal components. Must pass weld test and have own tools. OT may be required.

Qualifications

• MIG welding of various mild steel gauges, from 16 gauge to ½”.
• TIG/Stick welding experience a plus.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting ability.
• Strong math skills.
• Weld fabrication experience with sheet metal and structural welding.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate metalworking machines (shears, brakes, punches, drills, and CNC) to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
• Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, partition frames, dust collection piping, and material handling systems.
• Inspect product quality and 100% conformation to specifications.
• Keep up with production pace throughout shift.
• Follow directives from supervisors/leads.
• Must have own tools.
• Must pass weld test.
