Job description

General Summary

Follow established procedures and work under supervision to perform job duties in production, plant services, distribution, and central palletizing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Palletize 20-30 lb. finished cases, monitor case counts, and ensure case quality.
• Operate the tote station, safely run tow motors, and maintain weight and general quality information.
• Fill in for call-offs, leaves, vacations, absences, etc. for designated departments.
• When scheduled in the Production Department, perform duties as mixer, scaler/relief, depositor operator, and laminator operator.
• When scheduled in Plant Services, perform duties of that department on weekends and weekdays as necessary.
• When scheduled in Distribution, provide fill-in support and perform duties of that department.
• Become a trained backup for other operator positions.
• Heavy lifting is required.
• Always follow safety work rules and complete job tasks in a safe manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
• Use SAP as required.
• Follow all approved procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices according to 5S standards.
• Assist with rework function.

Language Skills

Be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence and memoranda, and communicate with respect to all levels of employees.

Physical Demands

You may be required to:

• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Use hands, fingers, and arms to reach and manipulate materials and equipment.
• Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and regularly push/pull heavy loads on wheeled dollies.

Minimum Education Required

Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Education & Experience Preferred

Two years related manufacturing experience.

Work Environment

The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, is exposed to vibration, fumes, airborne particles, hot/cold temperatures, high noise levels and wet environments. Must comply with all safety regulations, support plant safety initiatives, and use prescribed safety equipment such as safety eyeglasses, safety shields, gloves, earplugs, respirators, and approved footwear. Ability to deal with a changing work environment and high-pressure situations and work in a team environment. Overtime may be required.
