Job summary

Cleveland Gear Company is seeking a motivated 1st Shift Saw Operator to join a leading manufacturer of high-quality worm gearing and industrial speed reducers. You will inspect and prepare bar stock, set up the saw, and perform sawing, facing and centering tasks on the shop floor.

The role requires a high school diploma or vocational training, with at least one year of saw experience or six months with a high school background. Lifting 40 lbs and operating pallet lifters are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in English.
• One year experience on a saw or equivalent; high school graduate with six months experience acceptable.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs and load/unload parts with a hoist.
• Must be able to move parts using pallet lifter.
• ISO 9000 requirements familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify bar stock and handle bar stock.
• Sawing, facing and centering operations.
• Record heat lot numbers and review blueprint revisions.
• Signoff sheets and report non-conforming material.
• Report maintenance problems and identify pallets/containers.
