Job summary

Cleveland Gear Company is seeking a Manual Lathe Operator on 1st/2nd shift to set up and run lathes, inspect parts to blueprints, and document labor and production data. The role emphasizes reading blueprints, tolerances, and maintaining orderly setup records.

Candidates should have vocational training or machine shop experience, English literacy, and ability to operate hoists/cranes where required. Training and safety compliance are expected as part of ongoing development.

Qualifications

  • Two years vocational school or one year machine shop experience.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Experience on NC lathes is preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Set up lathes and operate manual lathe machines.
  • Inspect products to blueprints and document results.
  • Report production and labor data per procedures.
  • Maintain setup records and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Clean work area and move parts to next operation.
