Job summary

Pete & Gerry’s is hiring for a hands-on Food Safety & Quality Assurance role in Georgia. You will monitor processes to ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF, and SOPs, reporting to the FSQA Manager. You’ll help maintain product quality and animal welfare standards across our eggs and farming practices.

The role emphasizes adherence to food safety regulations, accurate documentation, and collaboration with production and sanitation teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in food science or related field preferred.
• Experience in quality control, food production, or egg processing is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and verify compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., USDA, FDA, HACCP).
• Inspect eggs for quality, including size, weight, and shell integrity.
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of eggs.
• Document and report samples exceeding quality threshold limits and work with operations to resolve quality deviation.
• Maintain current knowledge of SQF code and participate in Internal Audits for continuous improvement of SQF Program.
• Comply with all food safety procedures, regulatory requirements and process efficiencies.
• Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Thorough and accurate completion of paperwork and reports; support operations as needed.
