Job summary

Apex International is seeking a Production Technician to join our Eden Prairie, MN team. This onsite role operates and maintains production equipment, ensuring output meets schedules, quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include setup, changeovers, line support, sanitation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong mechanical skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years manufacturing experience preferred, ideally on high-speed packaging lines.
• 1-3 years of maintenance, repair, or setup experience preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical and electromechanical skills.
• Experience using hand tools and fasteners (standard and metric).
• Ability to learn/operate machine programs using an HMI (e.g., REB, Shorewood).
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and measurements.
• Vo-tech training in mechanics, machine repair, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, troubleshoot and maintain production equipment to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Assist Set-Up team with ChangeOvers and cleaning activities.
• Operate equipment including fillers, cappers, labelers, pumps, coders, case erectors, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document it; report major issues promptly.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas; ensure sanitation and cGMP standards.
• Coordinate line activities to sustain line speed and efficiency; communicate across teams.
• Support Lean initiatives and 5S practices; identify and implement improvements.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Vo-tech training in mechanics or machine repair

Demonstrated mechanical and electromechanical skills
