Job summary

Apex International in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician I – 1st Shift to maintain production equipment, maximize uptime and support safe, efficient operations.

This on-site role runs from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday work based on business needs. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in mechanical maintenance, basic CMMS knowledge, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical training in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
• Experience with packaging or production equipment strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of CMMS systems and maintenance processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform repairs independently.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests and perform routine and emergency repairs to support production uptime.
• Conduct equipment changeovers and start-ups efficiently to meet production standards.
• Test equipment after repairs or downtime to ensure readiness and minimize disruptions.
• Minimize temporary fixes by identifying and resolving root causes of issues.
• Order parts and request work orders to support ongoing equipment reliability.
• Track downtime and participate in continuous improvement discussions.
• Respond to internal customer (production) needs with urgency.
