Job summary

Apex International is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician I for the 1st shift in Chaska, MN to maintain production equipment, maximize uptime, and support safe, efficient operations.

The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance on packaging and production lines, CMMS work-order management, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to GMP and LOTO safety practices. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical training or education in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
• Experience with packaging or production equipment strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of CMMS systems and maintenance processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform repairs independently.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
• Class C Boiler license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to maximize uptime.
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete routine and emergency repairs.
• Conduct equipment changeovers and start-ups to meet production standards.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure readiness and minimize disruptions.
• Identify root causes to reduce temporary fixes and improve reliability.
• Manage parts and work orders in CMMS; track downtime.
• Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO and GMP.
