Job Purpose

The Production Supervisor is responsible for production functions. This individual directs and monitors the daily activities of Leads and work area employees, ensuring the safe production of all scheduled orders per specifications, GMP compliance, and adherence to our Food Safety Policy.

Shift: 1st shift, 6:30am-2:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the daily activities of Production work area Leads and their employees.
• Prioritize employee safety and create an environment that improves safety daily.
• Supervise production of scheduled orders efficiently and ensure GMP compliance.
• Collaborate with QA, Warehouse, Logistics, and other departments to execute planned programs.
• Train and supervise Production staff personnel.
• Adhere to policies regarding FIFO, HOLDS, and expiry of materials.
• Assist in managing and setting up labor for current and next-day operations.
• Maintain and improve production cost controls, headcounts, and line efficiencies.
• Support and model CandyCo’s safety culture and strive for 100% safety policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Excellent safety record and championing a safety culture.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a lead position managing production activities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and math skills.
• Self-motivated with high integrity and ability to perform with minimal supervision.
• Dependability, maturity, initiative, and good judgment demonstrated in past roles.
• Experience with SAP, ROSS, PLEX, or other ERP systems is a plus or ability to learn.

Working Conditions

• Ability to work any/all shifts as directed.
• Overtime, including holidays and weekends, as necessary.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Adherence to all safety programs and procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Non-slip work shoes.
• Ability to work on feet for 8+ hours.
• Pre-shift stretching and exercises.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Use of PPE such as hair restraints, beard nets, gloves as needed.
• Capability to see, hear, communicate professionally, and perform physical tasks like reaching, kneeling, crawling, twisting.

• No direct reports; indirect reports include Leads and Operators, both permanent and temporary.
