Job purpose
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production functions. This individual directs and monitors the daily activities of Leads and work area employees, ensuring the safe production of all scheduled orders according to specifications, GMP compliance, and our Food Safety Policy.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage and direct the daily activities of Production work area Leads and their employees.
- Prioritize employee safety and foster an environment that continuously improves safety.
- Supervise the production of scheduled orders efficiently and ensure GMP compliance.
- Collaborate with QA, Warehouse, Logistics, and other departments to execute planned programs.
- Train and supervise production staff personnel.
- Adhere to policies and procedures related to FIFO, HOLDS, and expiry of materials.
- Assist in managing and setting up labor for current and upcoming operations.
- Maintain and improve production cost controls, headcount management, and line efficiencies.
- Promote and support the CandyCo Safety Culture, striving for 100% safety policy compliance.
Qualifications
- Excellent safety record and a proactive safety culture champion.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a lead role managing production activities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic math skills.
- Self-motivated with high integrity, able to perform duties independently and reliably.
- Dependability, maturity, initiative, positive demeanor, and sound judgment demonstrated in past roles.
- Familiarity with SAP, ROSS, PLEX, or other ERP systems is a plus or willingness to learn.
Working conditions
- Ability to work any shift as scheduled.
- Willingness to work overtime, including holidays and weekends.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Adherence to safety programs and procedures as a safety champion.
Physical requirements
- Non-slip work shoes.
- Ability to work all shifts as scheduled.
- Perform pre-shift stretches and exercises.
- Work on feet for 8+ hours.
- Use of PPE such as hair restraints, beard nets, gloves as needed.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist.
- Good vision, hearing, and communication skills, maintaining professional etiquette.
