Job summary

Hubbell is seeking Press Machine Operators for the 1st Shift in our Chatsworth, CA facility. You will operate hydraulic-powered presses to produce thermoset compression molded parts, weigh materials, and ensure safe, efficient production.

Eligible for health care benefits and a $1,000 retention bonus after 90 days. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, locating materials, operating the press, and performing pre-checks on equipment.

Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking Press Machine Operators for our 1st Shift Press Department in our Chatsworth, CA facility. Press Machine Operators will be part of a dynamic and diverse team during a time of growth, producing thermoset compression molded parts of various sizes while using hydraulic-powered presses. Pay will begin at $20.50 per hour. As a newly hired employee, you will be eligible to receive a $1,000 retention bonus after the 90th day with Hubbell. Health care benefits start on the first of the month following your hire date.

A Day In The Life

• Able to read press cover blueprints to verify correct information for processing.
• Locate and identify materials required for your production.
• Properly weigh and handle material per requirements.
• Operate the press control panel.
• Operate a scissor lift table to safely unload and demold finished goods while following standard procedures.
• Pre-check ensuring the condition of the press machine, light curtains, power tools, PPE, and lift table are all operable.
• Foster 6s and sustain practices.
• Be familiar and comfortable using basic hand-held tools, including powered ones such as a power drill, angle grinder, rubber mallet, scissors, and retractable knives.

Required Qualifications/Skills

• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a group environment and ask for help when needed.
• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments within given parameters.
• Ability to work with tools including hammers, drills, sanders, screwdrivers, scissors, etc.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during 100% of the work shift, and clearly communicate issues.

Equivalent Education/Experience

• Heavy manufacturing and construction experience preferred.
• High school diploma preferred but not required.
