Job summary

Gordon Food Service is hiring for a 1st Shift Package Handler at our Springfield, Ohio distribution center. Starting pay is $20.90 per hour with two pay raises in the first year. The role runs Sunday to Thursday, 7:30 AM start, with weekends and holidays off as needed.

You’ll operate in a fast-paced warehouse, lift up to 100 pounds, and work in freezer environments. No prior experience required, training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test and background check.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred, but not required.

Position and Compensation

1st Shift Package Handler Warehouse Distribution Center

Address: 4980 Gateway Blvd. | Springfield, Ohio

Pay: Starting at $20.90/hour Plus, earn two pay raises in your first year

Work Schedule: Sunday - Thursday workweek, with Fridays and Saturdays off. Start time: 7:30 AM until finish (Shifts vary daily based on work volume).

Job Description

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers, and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. You’ll be on your feet for 10 hours of work, you’ll be lifting up to 100 pounds, and you’ll be asked to work in our freezer, but there’s no experience required - we train you how to get the job done with our dedicated training team. Selecting is hard work, so we’ll pay you a starting wage that scales with production and efficiency- the better you perform, the more you earn. • Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Must be able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions while you’re here.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork, and follow verbal instructions).
• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred, but not required.
