Job summary

Weiss-Aug is seeking an experienced Material Handler at our Elk Grove Village, IL facility. The role requires transporting and loading materials with a forklift or pallet jack, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring shipments meet quality standards.

Strong attention to detail and safety are essential. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years forklift experience, be certified, and demonstrate excellent communication and numeracy skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Five years of related forklift experience.
• Must be forklift certified and able to operate safety gear.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn software.

Responsibilities

• Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
• Receive, distribute, and store products in designated locations.
• Prepare records of materials received/shipped and verify shipment accuracy.
• Expedite shipments affecting production schedules and resolve issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and handle scrap disposal.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear required PPE.

We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Material Handler to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for transporting and loading materials, supplies, and finished goods using a forklift, electronic pallet jack, hand pallet jack, or carry by hand.

Requirements

• Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
• Prepares and maintains records of materials received/shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other information.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Transport and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods using a forklift, electronic pallet jack, hand pallet jack, or carry by
• hand.
• When problems arise internally, material handler will resolve issues or make corrections.
• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Prolonged periods sitting on a forklift· Prolonged periods of standing while sorting.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time.
• Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience driving a forklift
• Been certified as a forklift driver
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understands instructions and has the ability to follow through on those instructions.
• Good math and written communication skills.
• Must be proficient on a computer and is able to learn proprietary software.
• Efficient time management skills.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred.
• At least five years of related experience required.

This position is at our Elk Grove Village, IL location.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00
