Job summary

Americhem in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production equipment and facility systems. You will perform preventive, predictive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

You will read electrical schematics and manuals, use hand and power tools, and document service, parts, and labor.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders.
Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete work within established deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, management, and other departments.
A relevant associate or bachelor’s degree, technical certification, or vocational training is a plus.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and facility systems.
Perform preventive, predictive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, procedures, and manuals.
Document maintenance work orders, labor hours, and parts used.
Communicate issues and updates to management and affected departments.
Install, test, and commission new production equipment.
Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas.
