Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring for a manufacturing role in Houston, TX. Base pay is $18.50 per hour with 1st Shift from 6:00AM to 2:30PM; hours may vary by operations. The job includes operating heavy machinery, reading blueprints, and maintaining safety and quality in a dynamic plant setting.

Shifts can be 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on daily work orders and seasonal demand. Candidates should have a HS diploma, at least one year of related experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience in manufacturing or related environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Forklift and crane training or experience preferred.
• Flexible with overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and gauges for cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing.
• Produce quality-building parts following production techniques.
• Follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling gear.
• Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment.
• Mark part numbers and attach IDs so customers can locate parts.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to select correct materials.
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area.
• Stand/walk 8–12 hours daily; engage in repetitive material handling.
• Climb on/off equipment and ladders; adapt to varying conditions.
