Job summary

Tyson Foods in Alabama is seeking a hatchery worker to perform assorted hatchery tasks while maintaining safety and adhering to policies.

The role requires standing 8-10 hours, lifting up to 10 lbs, and working in warm, dusty conditions. You will assist supervisors, move boxes with a dolly, and help run cleaning and stocking tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours and lift ~10 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to learn and operate hatchery equipment.
• Willingness to follow safety policies and PPE usage.
• Ability to work in dusty, warm, humid environment.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing various hatchery tasks while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

“This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Tasks:

Assisting the supervisor in the day to day operations at the hatchery. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to pulling hatcher baskets from the hatchers to the separator room, sweeping out hatchers, cleaning and disinfecting the hatchers and drains.

Move stacks of empty boxes weighing approx. 70 lbs with a dolly.

Move buggies containing eggs with dolly. Clean, mop and buff hatchery floors. Monitor hatchers and setters as required by management.

Run chick trays, flats and boxes through tray washer, put flats in farm racks. Train to operate the separator.

Job Requirements:

Must be willing to perform all the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Have the ability to learn and/or understand machines.

Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours, bend, squat, push, pull and lift approx. 10 lbs repetitiously.

Must be able to work in dusty environment with high allergens such as chick down.

Work in warm/humid environment.

Wear PPE’s and follow all safety policies and procedures.

All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

2.who are unable to meet the trial period because theyarenot actively working when assigned for the trial period;or

3.who are unable to physically perform the premium job when assigned, provided this clause does not conflictwithany state or federal law;or

4.with a suspension in thelastthree (3)months

B.Additionally: A Discretionary position is a job that is awarded to the most qualified candidate regardless of seniority. Discretionary positions are as follows: Leads and Manifestor Labor. All of the bidding procedures described above for non-discretionary positions shall apply to the bid process for discretionary positions. Where two (2) or more candidates are equally qualified, seniority will prevail.
