Job Title: Mechanical Assembler 1st Shift

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler will assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. You will work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to build high-quality products using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. This role focuses on accuracy, safety, and efficiency while supporting production goals and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and complete systems according to specifications, blueprints, and work instructions.

• Use a variety of hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, socket sets, pliers, hex keys, and torque wrenches, to perform precise assembly work.

• Operate power tools such as electric screwdrivers, drills, impact drivers, grinders, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively.

• Verify the proper fit, alignment, and functionality of assembled components and systems.

• Inspect finished assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements.

• Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or assembly discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.

• Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues during the assembly process.

• Follow all company safety procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality guidelines at all times.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and equipment.

• Collaborate with team members and support production schedules and goals by completing tasks on time.

• Use basic computer skills as needed for work instructions, documentation, or production reporting.

• Handle and assemble various components such as rivets, screws, and crimped connections as part of the build process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
