Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking a Manufacturing Associate – Mechanical Engraving to support the engraving production line. The role involves operating Gravotech rotary engraving machines, loading fixtures, inspecting products, and maintaining safety standards on a 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Responsibilities include ensuring materials are prepared, performing light maintenance, and matching labels, colors, and text to customer requests while monitoring quality and reporting issues.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operator experience preferred.
• Experience in light production environments.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of basic quality control concepts.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours) and perform hands-on work throughout the shift.
• Strong listening skills with the ability to gain clarification when needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Experience with Gravotech or Newing-Hall rotary engraving equipment highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce goods in accordance with company guidelines.
• Operate mechanical engraving equipment (Gravotech rotary engraving machines).
• Operate equipment in other production areas as needed.
• Load and unload fixtures and materials as required.
• Ensure all materials are properly prepared and ready for equipment use.
• Perform cleaning and minor maintenance on production equipment.
• Continuously monitor product quality and report any issues.
• Read and match item labels to customer requests.
• Accurately match colors, text, and products.
• Identify opportunities and recommend ideas to improve productivity.
• Report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns.
• Follow direction from supervisors, managers, or assigned POCs.
• Assist in other departments as needed.
• Maintain strong attendance and punctuality.
• Follow all company policies and safety regulations.
