Job summary

Venteon is seeking a 1st Shift Controls Engineer for the Lima, Ohio area. The role requires hands-on experience in manufacturing, strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and Fanuc robots, and a track record in automation projects.

You will design, program, and maintain controls systems, support robots, and participate in APQP and safety initiatives. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Controls/Electrical Engineering plus 3–5 years of robotic/controls engineering in a plant is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Controls/Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years of Robotic/Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Experience with ERP HMI SCADA Kepware/KEPServerEX highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Approve process specification and design standards.
• Develop and implement software changes to improve production capabilities.
• Design and develop robots including software to program robots.
• Understand manufacturing production requirements and how robots can improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Assist in repair and maintenance of robots and robotic equipment.
• Train robotics operators and establish basic maintenance and repair programs at new installations.
• Participate in plant APQP process for new equipment and processes with electrical and electronic circuitry.
• Provide electrical technical expertise to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Design and maintain safe machine controls and auxiliary equipment.
• Use ladder-logic to optimize processes with safety as priority.
• Conduct tool shop buyoffs on new process and automation equipment (electric controls, poka-yoke).
• Participate in poka-yoke team evaluation of processes.
• Contribute to plant continuous improvement and self-directed teams regarding electric/electronic controls.
• Design, install, and maintain the plant's electric power distribution system.
• Interface with tool and die and maintenance teams for technical support.
• Work with AutoCAD / Cad Key to prepare/alter drawings.
