Job summary

McClancy Foods & Flavors in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Pre-Weigh/Batching Operator to accurately weigh, measure, and prepare ingredients according to batch sheets and formulas. You will stage ingredients for production lines and verify lot numbers, expiration dates, and identities.

From following GMPs and HACCP to maintaining batch records and collaborating with production, QA and warehouse teams, you will help ensure food-safety and efficiency while handling multiple ingredients and shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, batching, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Experience working with formulas, recipes, or precise measurements is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math skills (weights, measurements, conversions).
  • Ability to read and follow batch sheets, recipes, and SOPs.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer or data entry skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Operate scales, measuring equipment, and related batching tools.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Report discrepancies, shortages, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Assist with inventory control, including material handling and stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency efforts.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and warehouse teams to meet production goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Pre-Weigh/Batching Operator is responsible for accurately measuring, weighing, and preparing raw ingredients in accordance with production formulas and schedules. This role ensures all ingredients are staged and ready for processing while maintaining strict adherence to food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
