Job summary

Phoenix Stamping Group, LLC seeks Line Operators to run automated production lines, monitor equipment, and ensure quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience and can read schematics and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience.
• Experience operating metal stamping presses.
• Experience with setups/changeovers.
• Experience with overhead crane loading coils.
• Experience with standard shop measuring tools and hand tools.
• Ability to read schematics (blueprints) and engineering drawings.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, change, change over, and operate line according to production specifications.
• Inspect equipment before and monitor equipment during production. Confirm proper operation by checking process parameters and indicators.
• Set up part programs and parameters for presses, feeds, and dies using standard procedures.
• Perform quality checks to verify die setup prior to production run.
• Maintain shims for dies and fix broken punches or sections of dies in the press.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure with fixtures to ensure conformance.
• Report production quantities and labor details per recording process.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify causes of errors and defects.
• Maintain production logs for availability and accuracy.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, crane) as needed.

Job Description

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Job Purpose: Line Operators run automated lines, monitor equipment during production and ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate would have 2-5 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Set up, change, change over, and operate line according to production specifications
• Inspect equipment before and monitor equipment during production. Confirm that it is working properly by checking process parameters and indicators.
• Set up specific part programs and parameters for metal stamping presses, feed lines, and dies using the company’s standard practices and procedures
• Perform quality checks according to the company’s procedures to verify die set up prior to production run
• Make and maintain shims for blank and form dies
• Fix broken punches or sections of dies in the press or die shop
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with fixtures or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Report production quantities and labor detail accurately and according to the company’s recording process
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify the cause of errors, problems and defects
• Maintain production related documents and logs to ensure availability and accuracy
• Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead crane, etc to move raw material and parts as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• 2 years of experience required
• Experience operating metal stamping presses
• Experience with setups/changeovers
• Experience with overhead crane loading coils
• Experience with standard shop measuring tools and hand tools required
• Ability to read schematics (blueprints) and engineering drawings
• Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment
