Job summary

The teacher will plan and deliver instruction aligned to state and district standards, using both in-person and virtual formats, and manage a positive, engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from GA PSC-approved college/university in relevant field.
• Valid GA PSC teaching certificate in the appropriate field.
• Endorsements must align with the teaching certificate.
• CTAE endorsements; minimum two years of verifiable industrial work experience.
• Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment.
• Certification in special education as applicable and aligned with assignment.

Responsibilities

• Teaches grade-relevant curriculum for 1st grade and follows district standards.
• Develops and implements lesson plans and activities for in-person and virtual learning.
• Communicates with district personnel, students, and parents by phone, email, or video.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment supporting development and engagement.
• Uses technology to provide instruction and collaborate with students.
• Assesses and reports progress, attendance, and performance.
• Supervises student behavior per Code of Conduct and handbook.
• Participates in conferences with parents, students, counselors, teachers, and administrators.
• Performs duties such as ordering materials and attending trainings.
• Directs paraprofessional or instructional aide as needed.
• Maintains prompt and regular attendance; performs other duties as assigned.
