Pardes Jewish Day School seeks a full-time First Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners and bring 1st grade expertise to engage students through inquiry, problem solving, Project Based Learning, and collaborative exploration.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred) and 2–5 years of experience, with a strong emphasis on equitable practices, developmental understanding, and school-wide collaboration.

Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
Two to five years of experience preferred
Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive practices, with respect to pedagogy, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
A strong understanding of the developmental and learning needs of lower school children. This includes teaching math, literacy, phonics, reading and writing workshop, comprehension, science, mindset, study skills, and social/emotional skills.
Ability to provide differentiated instruction for specific lessons, skills sets, and/or units of study.
Enjoy working with an innovative grade-level team to foster the emotional well being and academic success of students
Excellent classroom management
Ability to collaborate with other faculty, speciality teachers, staff, and administration
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
A desire to work in a school that prizes excellence in academics while nurturing students to become lifelong learners.
An engaging teaching style
A strong desire to be part of an innovative, collaborative team to foster the emotional well being and academic success of students
Ability to create strong relationships with parents
Participation in all aspects of school life, including after-school coaching, club leadership, and enrichment programs (is preferred but not required)
Strong organizational skills
Able to appreciate working in a Jewish Day School
Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check and maintain a valid fingerprint clearance card at all times when in the classroom.
May be required to work outside normal working hours.
May be required to travel to perform work functions.
May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
