Job summary

Antioch School District 34 is seeking a Long-Term Substitute: 1st Grade Elementary Teacher at W C Petty Elementary in Antioch, IL. The role focuses on creating a supportive classroom, planning lessons, assessing progress, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in elementary education is required.
• Certification and licensure per ISBE/ROE is required or in process.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with current instructional methodologies and techniques is expected.
• Understanding of child development theories and practices is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement lesson materials aligned to State standards and district objectives.
• Differentiate learning activities to meet diverse student needs.
• Participate in weekly SLT meetings and data-related discussions.
• Utilize technology to enhance instructional delivery and student learning.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, parents, and administration for student success.
• Maintain accurate records and engage in ongoing professional growth.

Education

Bachelor's degree in elementary education

Certification and license as required by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Regional Office of Education

Previous teaching experience preferred

Knowledge of current educational and instructional methodologies and techniques

Knowledge of theories and practices of child development
