Job summary

Antioch Community Consolidated School District 34 in Antioch, Illinois seeks a long-term substitute teacher for 5th grade to provide continuity in instruction and a supportive classroom.

You will plan lessons aligned with state standards, differentiate for diverse learners, collaborate with staff and parents, and contribute to a positive school culture while maintaining records and participating in professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in elementary education is required.
• Certification and license per ISBE/ROE is required or in process.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of current educational methodologies and techniques.
• Knowledge of theories and practices of child development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement lesson materials aligned with district resources and state standards.
• Differentiate instruction using varied methods and materials.
• Participate in weekly SLT meetings and data-related reviews.
• Utilize technology to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support student success.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to district goals.

Education

Bachelor's degree in elementary education

Certification and license as required by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Regional Office of Education

Previous teaching experience preferred

Knowledge of current educational methodologies and techniques

Knowledge of theories and practices of child development
