Job summary

BAMSI, Inc. is seeking a Residential Counselor MAP in Dedham, MA. The role focuses on rehabilitative support for adults in Group Living Environments, helping residents build daily living skills and community integration.

You will teach ADLs, implement treatment plans under clinician guidance, and transport residents to appointments. A high school diploma is required, MAP certification is mandatory or must be obtained within 3 months, and a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• MAP certification is required for this position; candidates without current certification must obtain it within 3 months.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

Pay Range: $20 - $23.75

Schedule: 24 hrs Sun-Tues: 8a-4p

FLSA: Non Exempt

What You Bring:

• High school diploma/GED; mental health experience preferred.
• MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus : Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
