Job summary

Schnuck Markets, Inc. is hiring for a checker to provide friendly service, greet customers, and handle checkout accurately. You will process payments, apply coupons, and maintain cash security while ensuring a smooth shopping experience.

Training is at store level. Availability is required 9am–5pm on weekdays and weekends, with duties including bagging, item identification, and proper coupon handling.

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
• Greet customers prior to checking their order
• Check out customers purchases accurately
• Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes
• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
• Process manufacturer coupons
• Collect correct amount due from customer
• Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
• Complete register record accurately
• Practice and maintain cash security
• Bag customer orders
• Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management

• Greet customers, scan items, and process payments efficiently
• Ensure correct coupon application and produce item codes are used
• Bag orders and maintain clean checkout area

TRAINING

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Bending
• Stooping
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements - Internal Candidates:

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates:minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Compensation Pay Range:

$15.35 - $16.75
