Job summary

Schnucks is seeking a friendly, customer-focused team member to support checkout operations in a fast-paced store environment. The role emphasizes accurate transactions, coupon processing, and maintaining cash security, with responsibilities including greeting customers and bagging orders.

Eligibility includes dependable attendance and the ability to work weekdays and weekends. Internal candidates have preferred consideration, with training provided at store level.

• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons.
• Process manufacturer coupons.
• Collect correct amount due from customer.
• Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options.
• Complete register record accurately.
• Practice and maintain cash security.
• Bag customer orders.
• Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes.
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management.

This is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. You could expect the position of checker to include the following: Candidates must at least be available 9am-5pm and available on the weekdays and weekends.

Training

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Bending Stooping Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements

Internal Candidates: Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred. Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred. Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline). If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
