Schnucks is seeking a checker to deliver friendly, accurate service at the register in a United States store. You will greet customers, scan items, process payments, and ensure correct handling of coupons while maintaining cash security.

Training is provided at store level. Internal candidates with six months in the company are preferred. Schnucks offers a comprehensive benefits package including health/dental/vision, retirement, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and teammate discounts.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to handle cash and provide accurate payments.
• Familiarity with coupons and basic product codes.

Responsabilités

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Greet customers prior to checking their order and check out purchases accurately.
• Identify produce items and use product codes correctly.
• Process manufacturer and Schnucks coupons accurately.
• Handle payments using cash, checks, debit/credit cards, EBT, and other options.
• Maintain cash security and complete register records.
• Bag orders and ensure receipts and coupon tapes are correct.

Job Description This is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. You could expect the position of checker to include the following:

DUTIES

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Greet customers prior to checking their order
• Check out customer’s purchases accurately
• Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes
• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
• Process manufacturer coupons
• Collect correct amount due from customerUse proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
• Complete register record accurately
• Practice and maintain cash security
• Bag customer orders
• Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management

TRAINING

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Bending Stooping Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Internal Candidates: Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Compensation Pay Range: $15.35 - $16.40
