Job summary

Schnucks is hiring a checker at our Massachusetts store to deliver friendly, efficient service. You will greet customers, scan items, and handle multiple payment types including cash, checks, credit/debit, EBT, and WIC, ensuring accurate totals.

Training is provided at the store level; you should be able to stand for the shift and lift up to 25 pounds, in a fast-paced retail setting focused on accuracy and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Store Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Greet customers prior to checking their order.
• Check out customer’s purchases accurately.
• Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes.
• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons; process manufacturer coupons.
• Collect correct amount due from customer; accept cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options.
• Complete register records accurately; practice and maintain cash security.
• Bag customer orders; manage receipts and coupon machine tapes.
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management.
